Centennial Celebration!
The Engineers Club has a lot to celebrate: a beautiful mansion, an energetic membership, and a BIRTHDAY! In 1905, the city's water engineer, Alfred Quick decided to pull together his engineering associates and create a club to further facilitate the exchange of ideas on rebuilding Baltimore after the devastating fire of 1904. We've had a few homes along the way, but the 1960's purchase of the Garrett-Jacobs Mansion sparked a passion for this magnificent townhouse that burns bright even today. Won't you join us in celebrating as this entourage of passionate professionals turns one hundred?

”…whereas the people of Baltimore are proud to salute the Engineers Club of Baltimore as they celebrate a century of serving the technical, educational, civic and social needs of the entire metropolitan business and professional communities.

Now, therefore, I Martin O’Malley, Mayor of the City of Baltimore, do hereby proclaim January 1, 2005 – December 31, 2005 as “The Engineers Club Centennial Celebration” in Baltimore, and do urge all citizens to join in this celebration.”

Now in its 95th year, The Ontario Club is one of Canada's premier private clubs. Located in the heart of Toronto's financial district, The Ontario Club remains an essential venue and resource for anyone wishing to enhance their professional and personal lives.

The Ontario Club was founded in 1909, and in 1913 the first permanent club house was opened at 16 Wellington Street in Toronto. The ribbon was cut by Sir Wilfrid Laurier, Canada's 6th Prime Minister. Until World War II, The Ontario Club was home to many Liberal politicians, including many Senators and Cabinet Ministers. Following the War, the Ontario Club ceased to have any official political affiliation, and became the Club of choice for many of Toronto's professionals and business leaders.

The Ontario Club holds a wide variety of events for its members and their guests. These include formal dinners, casual get-togethers, international "destination" events sponsored by the Consular Corps and special theme nights.

You can also hold your own personal or corporate events at The Ontario Club, whether it is a business meeting, presentation, private party, wedding or retirement party.

Some of our most popular events include Valentine's Day, monthly single malt tastings, Mother's Day dinner, St. Patrick's Day, Oyster Night by Rodney, Oktoberfest, the President's Ball, and the best New Years' Eve party in town. Click here to see a photo gallery of some of our recent events.
