Caen Marble Hall Between the Library and the Ballroom is situated one of the most impressive features of the house. The marble stairway descends along the east side in a graceful curve having a railing of wrought-metal in classical design. To honor Dr. Jacobs, a caduceus, symbol of the field of Medicine, is a central feature of the iron design. |
