Preserving History
Mission Statement
The mission of the Garrett-Jacobs Mansion Endowment Fund is to preserve and restore the Mansion as a National Historic Landmark and to share the history, architectural and civic legacy of the Mansion for the benefit and education of the public.
How Garrett Jacobs Mansion Endowment Fund Accomplishes the Mission
The Garrett-Jacobs Mansion Endowment Fund (GJMEF), a 501 (c)(3) organization, was formed by the Engineering Society of Baltimore, which owns the Garrett-Jacobs Mansion and operates The Engineers Club as both a private club and an event venue.
GJMEF ensures the Mansion is open to the public--hosting fundraising events, concerts, lectures, film screenings, educational outreach efforts, and tours in partnership with our Resident Artists. GJMEF also leads capital fundraising and capital project management. With the help of many individuals, firms, corporations, foundations, and the State of Maryland, GJMEF has raised over $8 million since 1992. Every penny of this has gone into restoring and maintaining the Mansion.
